During my time here at Martino Flynn, I have learned a lot about the professional world. Everything is fast paced, and you need to be ready for anything. Adapting to what is going on around you is key, if there needs to be a change in something your working on, go with the flow because there is no time for disagreements or anything else. The client needs to be happy and we change what we are working on to fit their needs. I have met some great people here and I am so happy to say that i was apart of the 2012 spring crop. Thank you to all the staff at MF that have made me feel so welcomed!

Have you ever heard of Pinterest? It is an invite only social sharing network that allows individuals to organize and share interesting things on the web. With millions of pins added every week, Pinterest is connecting people from all over the world based on their shared interests. Things are winding down here at Martino Flynn, well for the Spring Crop 2012 team. But before we go we have one last final project. We decided to do Pinterest. We have been researching and gathering information about the fast growing social media sight. Go tohttp://pinterest.com/ to get started!
Just wanted to post the final design for the fluevog shoe advertisement that I have been working on for a few weeks now. It was definitely a great way to see what working on a task in an Advertising agency is really like. For the past few weeks, the internship team here at MF have been working on work orders, marketing strategies, and brainstorming ideas for our fluevog shoe design. Last minute we had a set back, when a design almost identical to ours was submitted for the shoe advertisement competition. We had to work together and come up with a back up plan and this is the final submission. It was definitely an eye opening experience and I think in the end we did a great job!
Today, after working weeks on a design for a competition, we found out someone else submitted something almost identical to ours. Therefore, all the work was a complete waste! How stressful- However, we must keep working to get another design finished in time. Even when things like this happen its important to keep your cool and keep going! Don’t get discouraged, just do something better!
When you are doing an internship one of the most important things to do is ask questions! When you ask questions you learn, and thats the point of doing an internship in the first place right? For experience and to learn! So don’t be afraid to ask for help, to ask for advice, etc. Just ask questions, because if you don’t you could miss out on some very valuable information when it comes to working in the professional world. Here at Martino Flynn, everyone is very helpful and are willing to give us interns advice whenever we want. It’s a great way to prepare ourselves for whatever comes next. So, just remember to- ASK QUESTIONS!

This week I am working on an advertisement for the shoe company Fluevog’s creative competition. All the interns here at Martino Flynn are working together to create an advertisement that best represents their shoe “keepsake”. So far we have been brainstorming and working on a few different ideas. We have until April 19, so only a few weeks! I think we have some good ideas going for us, now just to execute them properly! Back to work I go, will post later!

Here at the Greenhouse Internship we are working on Personal Manifestos! Here is a sneak peak at my manifesto. We came up with our own words, and then the Creative Interns (Myself and Lauren) designed the layouts for them!
One thing from I have learned from doing this internship is YOU MUST SLEEP! I am working part time, going to school full time, and also doing my internship part time, and let me tell you..It is exhausting! Getting enough sleep at night is key to making sure you are awake, and ready for whatever may come your way. When you go to college- classes are usually not very long, however at an internship you may be working 9-5 and it will take a toll on you. So! The moral of this post is get some sleep! It will definitely be beneficial to the way you act at work and anything else you do during your week. Post again soon!
This is my blog and current journal for the next eleven weeks, as a creative spring intern at the advertising agency, Martino Flynn
